Scholarships
The Volunteers In Corrections Board will provide educational scholarship funds for qualified applicants who are current or former clients of the Ramsey County Community Corrections Department. We provide up to $7500 in scholarships. Up to $2500 per quarter/semester for a maximum of three (3) quarter/semesters is available to qualified applicants.

Examples of VIC scholarships awarded:

Minnesota Training Connection provided Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training to qualifying individuals through Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College. Read more here.

S.H. was awarded a scholarship to Anoka Ramsey Community College for Business Management

E.F. was awarded a scholarship to Century College for Computer Design

R.B.was awarded a scholarship to Minneapolis Community Technical College for a certificate in Entrepreneurship training

S.P. was awarded a scholarship to Empire Beauty School for Cosmetology

L.M. was awarded a scholarship to St. Paul College for Automotive Repair
Grants
The VIC awards financial grants to assist current and former Ramsey County Community Corrections clients and their families with day to day expenses and transition to life outside of the justice system.

Recent examples:

$200 awarded to the Adult Probation Dept. for bus tokens for their clients.

$350 awarded to the Adult Probation Dept. for gifts to participants in group programming.
-
$2660 awarded to the Unsheltered Probation Project for supplies such as mylar sleeping bags, emergency rain ponchos, and emergency tube tents.
